 Director: Bhushan Patel

Writers: Tanveer Bookwala (story), Ishita Moitra (dialogue)

Stars: Sunny Leone, Saahil Prem, Parvin Dabas.

Ragini MMS 2 features Sunny Leone and the newcomer Saahil Prem in lead roles in a continuation of the plot from the prequel. The film was a major commercial success, being declared a hit at the box office.

Plot:
The film begins from where the previous film ended. Ragini's MMS goes viral and this catches the attention of a failed director, Rocks (Parvin Dabas) who decides to make a movie on the scandal. He signs Sunny (Sunny Leone) as the lead actress and decides to shoot the movie in the same house where the MMS was recorded.
Sunny, who takes an instant liking to the script, seeks permission to meet the real Ragini (Kainaz Motivala), who is still in a mental asylum, to get a better in depth look of the character she wants to portray. But the meeting goes horribly wrong when Ragini stabs herself brutally in her neck and dies.
Later, the cast and crew arrive at the haunted house to shoot and strange things begin to happen, especially to Sunny. Elsewhere, Dr. Meera Dutta (Divya Dutta), a psychiatrist who specializes in cases for which science has no answers, takes up Ragini's case. After going through old news paper clipping and video tapes of Ragini, she finds the truth regarding the ghost.
She finds out that the ghost in life was a married woman with two daughters and a son. She was more attached to her son, because she had conceived him after much difficulty and praying. One day, the boy and his two sisters were playing hide and seek when the boy slipped into a well and drowned. This drove his mother insane and caused her to embark on a desperate quest to resurrect him from the dead. A priest who claimed to perform black magic arrived and convinced her the only way to bring her son back was to sacrifice both of her daughters. The insane mother agreed and the priest chopped off the daughters' heads. He put the sword in her hands, told her to close her eyes, and chant. While she did that he stole all of her money and ran. When the villagers finally arrived, they assumed that the mother was practicing witch craft and punished her by hanging her from a tree, stoning her, and burning her alive. The woman survived, finally dropped from the tree, and after cursing them all, killed herself by stabbing herself in the neck with the rattle-toy her son used to play with.

Two days before her marriage, her fiancé Vijay (Rajkummar Rao) meets with her in a local cafe to tell her he no longer wants to marry her, claiming he has changed, and she would not match his lifestyle anymore. Shocked at the development, Rani shuts herself in her room for a day.
She decides to take control of her life and plans to go alone on her pre-booked honeymoon to visit her favourite place, Paris - which she'd never seen before - and Vijay's favourite place, Amsterdam. After initially hesitating, her parents agree, thinking that a vacation might cheer her up and Rani departs.
In Paris, she meets Vijayalakshmi aka Vijay (Lisa Haydon), who has a French/Spanish mother and an Indian father and works at the hotel where Rani is staying. Overwhelmed by Paris and having gotten into trouble twice - once with the local police and once with a robber - Rani soon makes up her mind to return to India. However, Vijayalakshmi becomes her friend and confidante and shows her around Paris. The two have a series of adventures, during which Rani relives the memories of Vijay patronising her and forbidding her from dancing and drinking - which she's free to do in Paris. Once while shopping, Rani tries out what she considers to be a revealing outfit and accidentally sends a selfie of her in it to Vijay instead of Vijayalakshmi. She quickly realises her mistake, but unbeknownst to her, the selfie prompts Vijay to begin searching for her.
Eventually, the time comes for her to bid an emotional farewell to Vijayalakshmi and board the train for Amsterdam. However, when she arrives in Amsterdam, she finds to her horror that her hostel room is to be shared with three guys, Taka from Japan, Tim from France and Oleksander from Russia. Soon, the four become good friends and explore the city, spending their days shopping, sight seeing, visiting a sex shop, and meeting pole dancers in a club. Rani's character gains self-confidence here, as she drives her friends home when they're drunk and earns money in a cook-off by selling gol gappa. She learns more about her friends' backgrounds and begins to understand how different life can be for people in other parts of the world.
As the four head home from the cook-off, they find Vijay waiting for Rani in front of the hostel. He apologises and asks her to reconsider the relationship. The conversation gets physical as he tries to grab Rani, but her friends retaliate, and she tells him to leave.

Devil's Tower (2014)

Description:

When Sid's friend goes missing, he and new girl Sarah investigate disappearances in their tower block. Uncovering the secret of a vengeful ghost possessing a horde of zombies, they must fight for their lives - and their souls.

Director: Owen Tooth

Writer: Adam J. Marsh

Stars: Jason Mewes, Roxanne Pallett, Frances Ruffelle.

Devil's Tower isBrit horror “Devil’s Tower” might not have the most original name or premise, revolving around sinister goings on in a shabby housing estate tower block, though it does at least have a pretty interesting cast, led by actress Roxanne Pallett, best known for her work on popular UK countryside soap “Emmerdale” and Jason Mewes of “Jay and Silent Bob” fame. Directed by Owen Tooth and written by Adam J. Marsh, the film follows the recent trend of combining urban decay and grounded anxieties with the supernatural, throwing in some oddball comedy and nudity for good measure.

 Plot:

The tower in question is Albion Court, a rundown block long past any former glory it might once have had, now home to squatters and drug dealers, and where two residents were recently found dead in mysterious circumstances. Roxanne Pallett plays Sarah, a young woman thrown out of her home by her thoroughly unpleasant alcoholic mother (Frances Ruffelle) and forced to move into one of Albion’s grimy flats for want of other options. Though her neighbours prove to be a friendly, if strange lot, she’s unsettled by her new surroundings and the weird noises coming through the wall, not to mention the disturbing images inexplicably appearing on her TV. After more disappearances and deaths, Sarah teams with an American squatter called Sid (Mewes) to try and get to the bottom of things, coming up against a vengeful ghost and the resurrected dead.

There’s clearly nothing new when it comes to the story, setting or themes of “Devil’s Tower”, Owen Tooth and Adam J. Marsh pulling together a mixed bag of scenes and scares, the likes of which have been seen before in a variety of other films. As a low budget horror this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise or taken as too damning a criticism, though it’s hard not to feel a little unenthused by the general lack of invention. It doesn’t help that none of the film’s horror aspects are particularly effective, Tooth never managing to get the pulse racing or to generate much suspense. A few vaguely gory moments aside, there’s not much in the way of threat or menace, and though the film technically ticks a reasonable number of genre boxes, it’s hard to imagine fright fans finding anything to get excited about.
Where the film fares better, and actually works surprisingly well, is in its comedy and general eccentricity, Marsh’s script featuring some solid character writing and a pleasing attention to leftfield detail. Without falling back on spoofery or silliness, the film has a good few genuinely amusing moments peppered throughout, and though this defuses any potential tension even further, it ups the entertainment value considerably. The cast also help, Roxanne Pallett likeable as the female lead and managing the all-important balance of vulnerable and tough, and Jason Mewes defying expectation by turning in an amiable and convincing performance. While it’s hard to imagine anyone caring about what happens to their protagonists or indeed the rest of the cast, it’s fun to watch them panic as their situation worsens, and this helps keep the respectably short film rolling along at a cheerfully brisk pace.

As a result, though “Devil’s Tower” certainly isn’t one for hardened horror addicts or viewers looking for either scares or splatter, it makes for a harmless and fairly enjoyable hour and twenty minutes, and despite its dearth of originality is more watchable than many others of its ilk.
