One By Two is a 2014 Hindi romantic comedy directed by Devika Bhagat.v It released on 31 January 2014 at multiplexes, showing on approximately 500 screens in India. The film features real life couple Abhay Deol and Preeti Desai. This is the story of Amit and Samara who meet each other while living in Mumbai The music of the film has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film was heavily panned by critics.

 

 

 

One by Two (2014) Story & Synopsis:

Abhay Deol had a falling out with music company T-Series after the composers from his film Shankar Ehsaan Loy were asked to sign, what they believed to be illegal clauses which would hand over their [the author's] rights to royalty over to the music company. Abhay Deol took to social media and blamed T-Series for delaying the music launch of his film as well as not promoting the movie due to him and the composers not agreeing to sign the documents. This allegation was denied by T-Series who claimed that they had uploaded 3 songs from the movie on its YouTube page and claimed "In the absence thereof [of appropriate agreements], we cannot be expected to release music when there is no clarity with respect to the rights granted to the producer"  In another statement, T-Series expressed the fact that they had been assured by the company Viacom 18 that they owned all the rights (including the music rights) and that they did not understand why they were being dragged into this dispute which should be between Mr. Deol and Viacom 18. T-Series eventually relinquished their hold on the music rights after a campaign was run by the composers and artists against the music company.  Eventually the music for the film was launched after music companies Crecendo and Unisys who took over, with the former releasing the physical copies and the latter releasing the digital copies of the music online. The music was released 5 days before the films theatrical release.

The film was produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment. Upon its release on 27 June 2014, the film received positive reviews from the critics Koimoi identified it as a film that "more than double[d] the investment by additional 50%."



Ek Villain (2014) Story & Synopsis:

A man in a hood murders a young woman, Aisha Verma (Shraddha Kapoor) with a screwdriver and throws her out the window, after breaking into her house. At her funeral, a CBI officer, Aditya Rathore (Shaad Randhawa), points out to the police, that it is vital to track down the murderer or else Guru (Sidharth Malhotra), Aisha's husband, would go on a killing spree. He misguides Guru by blaming Guru's former boss, a gangster Caeser (Remo Fernandes), for killing Aisha. In a flashback, he reveals that Guru used to work as a hitman for Caeser. Two years back, Guru had mercilessly killed a young man in a fit of anger, in front of his mother and younger brother.

Guru meets Aisha, a free spirited girl in love with life, who requests him to help her with reuniting two aged lovers. They soon become friends and Aisha reveals to him that she is suffering from a terminal illness, and tells him about her bucket list. Guru helps her fulfill most of those wishes but her health deteriorates. Falling in love with her, Guru marries Aisha. He tries every means to save her, she receives treatment in Mumbai and miraculously recovers. Few days later she discovers she is pregnant but conceals the fact from Guru. In a parallel story, Rakesh Mahadkar (Riteish Deshmukh) is an unsuccessful and henpecked man who is constantly nagged and ridiculed by his wife Sulochana (Aamna Sharif) for being useless and poor. He vents out his frustration by murdering women who speak rudely to him, and Aisha turns out to be one of them.

In present day, Guru aims to track down Aisha's killer. After finding out that it was not Caeser behind the murder, he finally tracks down Rakesh, while he is assaulting another victim. Guru beats him brutally but later admits him to a hospital and pays for the expenses, intending to return. While at the hospital, Guru finds out that Aisha was pregnant which makes him even more angry. While assaulting a nurse who had earlier spoken rudely to him, Rakesh is again intercepted by Guru who almost kills him, but revives him again after delivering an adrenaline shot and sets him free. Meanwhile, the police find the truth about Rakesh and take his wife for questioning. Rakesh goes to his friend Brijesh Yadav (Kamaal R Khan), who suggests that Guru must be the husband of one of his victims and is thus taking revenge. He realizes that Guru is Aisha's husband as Aisha had begged him not to kill her by saying that she is pregnant

Rakesh, who now knows Guru's identity taunts him over the phone, before killing Aisha's father and then surrenders himself to Guru. Rakesh expected Guru to kill him so that he would become a "hero" in the eyes of his wife and everyone else, while Guru would become a "villain". However, Caesar calls Guru at that moment and says that he has killed Rakesh's wife and asks Guru to finish off his son. Enraged, Rakesh injures Guru and is about to kill him when he is run over by a car and dies on the spot. Guru later adopts Rakesh's son instead of killing him, and completes the remaining wishes on Aisha's bucket list.

Soon, panic among the villagers sets in. In order to bring calm back to the villagers, the forest warden takes the cub away. The Royal Bengal Tigress enters the village in the night searching for her cub. She picks up the scent of her cub’s blood and reaches the photographer’s hut. When she fails to get her cub back, her instinct leads her to avenge the kidnapping. She unleashes her wrath upon Uday, kills him, and disappears with his body. Enters Pundit; captain of an elite commando team, who comes to the Sundarbans to claim his brother Uday’s body. Silent replies from the villagers leads Pundit to a confrontation with the park warden. She callously declares the case closed and refuses to send a party to recover Uday’s body as the expanse and dangers of the forest ecology are too complex. Angry and emotional, Pundit decides to deal with the matter himself. He calls upon his own crack commando team and with the help of a local guide Madhu they engage a known tracker, Jhumpa, and set off on a do-or-die mission to captureso manipulates them into her territory.   Creature 3D (2014) Story & Synopsis:

Ahana (Bipasha Basu) takes out a loan to open a hotel in Glendale, Himachal Pradesh. During the party thrown for welcoming her first guests, Ahana meets Kunal Anand (Imran Abbas Naqvi), a novelist and they get attracted to each other. Guest starts to visit hotel but a couple was killed by an unknown creature in the forest and upon investigation police department concludes that it is done by a wild animal and in the hotel father of the girl who was killed accused Ahana that she is responsible for his daughter's death and as a result Ahana advices her guests to not to go into the Forest. Next night, the cook is ambushed by the creature into a store room and gets killed. Kunal decides to help Ahana and summons his sharp shooter friends, believing that the killings is result of a man-eater panther. Following morning, Ahana takes sigh of relief as the sharp shooters hunt down a big panther. Eventually romance culminates between Ahana and Kunal and they end up consummating their romantic relationship. After a few peaceful days, the creature breaks into the hotel and kills two business partners first. When Ahana shows up to check, she finds herself standing in front of a ten feet long creature with legs and tail of a dinosaur, upper body and a nose-less head of a human and scaly skin of a reptile. The creature attacks Ahana but she manages to lock herself in a room. Distracted by a waiter, the creature attacks the guests in the dining hall. Ahana and Kunal distract it but end up in a balcony which proves to be a dead-end. Fortunately, Professor Sadanand (Mukul Dev), who scares off the creature with a burning log, making it flee. Next morning, the injured guests and rest of hotel staff get evicted by police and medical team. Professor tells Ahana and Kunal that the creature is a Brahmarakshas, a man-eating mutant which is result Lord Brahma, the Hindu god of creation cursing sinister race of demons to become a demonic creatures with no salvation, eternally condemned to roam on earth and suffer. He tells that Brahmarakshasas still lurk in dense forests of India, but claims of their sighting is as relevant as sightings of UFOs. He suggests Ahana and Kunal to leave if they wish to stay alive. She refuses to leave the hotel, determined to fight back this time.

Ahana, Kunal and Professor are joined by two cops, Inspector Rana (Deepraj Rana) and Inspector Chaubey (Bikramjeet Kanwarpal), and they conspire to kill the Brahmarakshasa with bullets smeared with ashes of fig leaf. But eventually Chaubey gets killed by Brahmarakshasa. Professor and Rana flee into the bushes while Kunal and Ahana get into the bus. Later that evening, Rana tells that few years ago, a Sarpanch filed a report which appeared to be sighting of a Brahmarakshasa. The four go to the village and meet the Sarpanch in a temple, who tells them that decades ago, a hunter killed a Brahmarakshasa and planted a fig tree. But recently, government officials got the tree cut-down for expanding the highway. Only person who can help them now is Dr. Moga, the son of the late hunter. Upon learning that there are two doctors by the name Dr. Moga, they divide into groups of two. Professor and Rana go to Delhi while Kunal and Ahana set for Shimla. On the way, Kunal reveals his real identity as Karan Malhotra, the chairman of the same builder group that compelled Ahana's father to commit suicide. He tells her that he felt guilty of his deeds and wanted to apologize to her. Heart-broken, Ahana breaks-up with Karan and leaves for Shimla. It is confirmed that Dr. Moga of Shimla is the son of the Hunter. Ahana shares her problem with Dr. Moga, who tells her that Brahmarakshasa is a terribly strong beast and very few can overpower it. He tells her that it can be killed by a weapon dipped in the temple pond of the Brahma Temple in Pushkar, the one and only temple of Brahma in the world. But the weapon is effective only if it is dipped into the pond on the night of Kartik Purnima, which is eleven months away. Since time is short, Dr. Moga gives Ahana an old rifle and seven bullets, with which his father killed a Brahmarakshasa. Upon returning, Ahana, Professor and Rana enter the den of the Brahmarakshasa. Rana and Professor get killed by Brahmarakshasa during the fight. But as the beast tries to attack Ahana, Karan appears and saves her and they both escape. Left with three bullets, Ahana lures the Brahmarakshasa out by leaving a trail of her blood, leading it to the hotel next night. She ambushes the Brahmarakshasa but it attacks her. After a brief struggle she manages to kill the creature with the last bullet with the help of Karan.

Few days later, the hotel is ready to be reopened and Ahana repays the loan to the bank, freeing her hotel from mortgage. Ahana forgives Karan and they rekindle their relationship.

Storyline
Robert Trench, an undercover DEA agent, takes advantage of gunman Michael Stigman's idea to rob a bank to bust him and a mob boss.      Had a chance to view it this week with only the trailer as a guide as to what I was about to see. It turned out to be mildly better than I was anticipating. Mark Wahlberg brought a comical element that worked with the overall story with Denzel basically being the straight man throughout. Denzel plays his role smoothly with a slight sarcastic comedic side. I thought they both played off each other very well to keep you intrigued with the ongoing twisting plot. Good to see James Edward Olmos after a long absence from the big screen. Always be LT. Castillo from Miami Vice fame to me. Don't base your opinion on the trailer as I had. Worth a look.

Storyline

Reviews

The stand out feature of the Lego Movie for me would be the way the Lego Universe was created. The movie paid great attention to detail making everything appear as it would made from Lego, including the water and clouds, and the surfaces people walked on all had the circles sticking upwards a Lego piece would have. Combined with all the yellow faces, and Lego part during building, I was convinced action took place in the Lego Universe.

A combination of adult and child friendly humour should entertain all, the movie has done well to ensure audiences of all ages are catered to.

  The voice cast were excellent, especially Liam Neeson's split personality police officer, making the 2 personalities sound distinctive, and giving his Bad Cop the usual Liam Neeson tough guy.

The plot is about resisting an over-controlling ruler, highlighted by the name of the hero's "resistance piece". It is well thought through, well written, and revealing at the right times. Full of surprises, The Lego Movie won't let You see what's coming. Best animated film since Wreck it Ralph! Please let there be sequels.

Non-Stop (2014)  Story & Synopsis:

Bill Marks is an alcoholic U.S. federal air marshal; he enrolled in the Air Marshal service after he was discharged from the NYPD. On a Boeing 767 non-stop flight from New York to London aboard British Aqualantic Flight 10, midway over the Atlantic Ocean, Marks receives text messages on his secure phone stating that someone on the plane will die every 20 minutes unless $150 million is transferred into a specific bank account.

Breaking protocol, Marks consults with Jack Hammond, the other air marshal on the flight. Hammond is revealed to be smuggling cocaine in a briefcase; following an altercation, Marks ends up killing him in a lavatory. This occurs exactly at the 20 minute mark, resulting in the first death. As Marks attempts to stall for time with the texter, he works with Nancy Hoffman, a flight attendant, and Jen Summers, a passenger seated next to Marks, to discover the texter's identity. When the next 20 minutes expires, the captain suddenly dies of poisoning.

The public becomes convinced that Marks is hijacking the plane, as the bank account is in his name and a passenger uploads video footage of him treating passengers aggressively with no explanation. Co-pilot Kyle Rice has been instructed by the TSA to ignore Marks and land in Iceland, the closest destination; he diverts the plane but continues to cautiously trust Marks. Cell phone programmer Zack White is asked by Marks to design a hack which will cause the texter's cell phone to ring. It is discovered in the pocket of a passenger, who claims to have never seen the phone before. Following a fight with Marks, the passenger dies in a similar fashion to the captain
